"Most people attending an auction bid on familiar items i.e. furniture, jewelry, art work -the "normal" stuff. Then there are others who seek out the unusual bordering on weird.

An online auction in New Zealand recently featured - wait for it - two vials allegedly containing the ghosts of two dead people."

"The Emperor has no clothes."
 "Does too."
" Does not"
 "Does too."

I wonder, if you sniffed the vial,  could you get possessed? Which would be better, the old man or the naughty girl? How about a half priced sale on the pyramids?

Ellie, where do you find such oddities?? (One guess: Mad Magazine)

Actually, I found this one on CNN and/or reliable news outlets, due to the unusual nature of the auction. I can't believe "normal" people would pay hard cash for what could be (we don't know and neither does anybody else) empty vials. Weirrrrrd...

I should sell my empty chocolate milk jugs with this story on the side of the road for tourists! Thanks for the great idea!

Er,  the Kiwis tried it out in OZ, didn't work - so they flogged the idea to the Canadians - poor Canada, still in the ether over that marvellous, stupendous, talked about for years, fantastic hockey victory over poor, much maligned Uncle Sam, bought it.
